However, due to current laws in the US, all commercial almonds are supposed to be pasteurized so even almond butters saying raw have been heated briefly. You can get dry roasted which will have nice flavor and still have the minerals, just not the enzymes. Also, I think the bests are soaked/sprouted almonds as they are easier to digest by inactivating certain enzymes which can inhibit absorption of certain minerals and some places have almond butter made from soaked/sprouted almonds. Hope that helps!

Re: Why Almond Butter Is Better

Why raw almonds and not dry roasted which brings out a lot of flavor?

Re: Can you pass me the unadulterated food? Thank you for visiting! Yes, autism is very tough. I think using living herbs that tend to help move metals and toxins from the body, as well as sticking to ideal foods that are not only enjoyable, but also easy to digest and cleansing at the same time (namely sweet tree fruits) is a great help. I work as a health consultant at a fitness studio and if you ever have any questions feel free to hit me up (via the contact form). I have done some consults with mothers of autism and can send you some general info to consider (which I am sure you have a lot already :)

Re: Can you pass me the unadulterated food? My son has autism and I have been trying all sorts of diets to help "cure" him. I have come to the realization that God's Will will be done for him. His will will be to either "heal" him, or to have him grow with this "thorn in his side." No diet will cure him, but I believe unadulterated food (amongst everything else unadulterated) will lead him down the path God designed for him. It is a shame that most things considered natural are also adulterated, such as homogonized milk and wheat bred to contain more gluten, and GMO foods.

Re: Unrefined Cane Sugar

Hi Jeremy,
Sorry for the late response! I had recently traveled to Louisiana. And while visiting I was given a couple of ziplock bags of unrefined cane sugar. Now in search for some good recipes. Would like to use it in a barbecue sauce or even glaze. Sure would hate for it to go to waste. Was told it is pricey when I gave a bag to my aunt.

Re: Why Almond Butter Is Better

Yes, that is true, but the post says "conducive". So I am simply saying they are less likely or less certain to be contaminated than peanuts, Traditionally they have been less conducive to have aflatoxins, especially the amount associated with peanuts. It seems with environmental issues and deplete soils that parasites and fungal infection are doing what they are designed to do and now affecting more tree nuts. Thanks for the info, though.

Re: Why Almond Butter Is Better

Almonds can in fact be infected by aspergillus, the fungus that produces aflatoxins. I have never answered a blog before and feel compelled to add my comment to this entry about unrefined cane sugar. I recently bought a block of Jaggery from my local Indian store and have been using it ever since. I am amazed at the down shift in my sweetening requirements, and discovery that no sweetener is also good.
I bought some special containers just for jaggery lumps and enjoy thinking about how much to break off and choosing the degree of sweetness every time I use it. It is no longer an automatic two spoons of white granules. As a matter of fact, I am no longer enjoying the ( non) flavor of refined sugar. And certainly do not miss the buzzy reactions from ingesting it.
Thank you for your entry. I will check your other ones now.

Re: If you drink this, you will have an awesome life and all of your problems will go away.

Hi Tania,
Yes, you are allowed to disagree. : ) I am glad that you are seeing improvement in your health with Vemma. As I mentioned above, I think some of these have good ingredients and can be beneficial to people. It's just that I think the mindset and lifestyle of the overall foods you are eating is much more important.

Re: If you drink this, you will have an awesome life and all of your problems will go away.

I disagree, only a little bit, that's allowed isn't it? I do feel our world needs something that will help our bodies stay healthy because it is hard to find good healthy food on the market anymore. With pesticides and growth hormones being added to our fresh produce and livestock, it puts us in danger on getting sick. Also, with the problems of over farming the land, the minerals are being rapidly depleted therefore making our fruits and vegetables less nutritious. Even if one can afford to buy organic, which I try to as often as I can, you still have the mineral depletion problem with our soil and organic growers are not highly regulated in all parts of the world so who knows what you are buying. I have personally been taking Vemma for 3 months now and can honestly say I have experienced an improvement in my health. Many other people can attest to the same thing. I cannot speak for any of the other companies out there but Vemma explicitly says this is not a MIRACLE CURE. They simply ask you to try it for 30 days and if you don't feel any different, you get your money back so there is no risk. Vemma is confident you will like it as they have conducted scientific studies that show how wonderful their product really is.

As for your issues with Network Marketing. Simply said, a good network marketing company, such as Vemma, will help you and your friends and family get rich rather than a large corporation. Isn't that better? Why would you choose to give all your money to a Safeway or Shoppers Drug Mart where you make absolutely NOTHING then support yourself and others you care about by helping them make money? Seems kind of backwards. I think the world is changing and it is time for people to look at alternative ways to earn money. What better way to be successful then word of mouth advertising and that is what Network Marketing is all about. Please don't lump a Network Marketing strategy in with the illegal Pyramid Schemes or the first types of MLM companies from years ago. Things have changed and are way better now. There are basically 3 types of people. Group 1, trade time for money by working a regular 9 to 5 job. You basically have a ceiling of how much you can earn and you must put in the time of a full time job in order to earn it. Then there are those who are self employed, well sorry to tell you but you have just bought yourself a job. If you stop working, you probably also stop earning. Then there is the third group who have multiple streams of income. With Vemma you earn immediate and longterm income. The longterm portion of your compensation when set up will earn you money while you sleep. It is not a pipe dream, it is true and many people have achieved this.

Re: Healthy Eating Today for Healthy Living Tomorrow / About ETTLT

Hello Tim,

I stumbled upon your blog and love it.
